Basics of Camping
I have had many people email asking for information for "First-Time Camping" tips. So, I've compiled all my thoughts together to write this guide.Firstly, and most importantly, each time I get one of these emails, people don't seem to comprehend or understand that the kind of equipment you will need first time out depends on many variables; Such as location, time of year, enviroment, weather, duration of stay. It can be very hard to provide any 100% accurate estimate of what you will need without this information, I've always asked those who email me,to email me direct with such information, but for reasons only known to themselves, very few do.Thus the reason for this guide been written. Some initial things to consider:How many people will be camping? Are there children camping to?Duration of stay?Does any person require specialist medicines or treatment? The environment in which your camping? What facilities are available? How far you will be from the nearest town/city?The season of year?1. HOW MANY PEOPLE WILL BE CAMPING:This is important to know before any camping trip, as you will base what food/liquids you take upon this number. And also for some areas you may be required to let relevant authourites know where your intending to camp, and how many people are in your group.2. ARE THERE CHILDREN CAMPING:Kids (most of them!) love camping. But children also have different requirements to that of us adults. Some, especially teenagers, may not be so keen on the bush dunny method of toileting, little things like this need to be taken into consideration. Also kids can become bored very easily, so you will need to plan for rainy days when you will be confined to the tent. Card/board games which can be brought very cheaplyon eBay are great for this, and something the whole family can be involved in.3. DURATION OF STAY:Are you planning a weekender? A school holiday camp which may be a week or more?Knowing how long you intend to stay is important in knowing what supplies to take. As a rule of thumb you should allow 1 litre of drinking water per person, per day. This is not taking into account water used for cooking, making coffees, washing etc.4. MEDICATIONS:If someone in the group requires specialist medications you should consider a few things here, there medical condition first of all, will the environment they are in increase the symptoms of their condition? Also if they need medical equipment such as Ashtma

Tenpin Bowling Balls and Bowling Shoes
When looking for a used ball remember to add approximately $45 to the cost. This is what it will cost you to have the existing fingerholes plugged and to have the ball redrilled to suit your hand. In many cases you would be better waiting for a sale down at your local bowling alley and buying a new ball for around $70 as this price will include drilling.Oh, and those half-red/half-blue shoes you see for sale here sometimes - they are AMF house shoes. AMF never get rid of them unless they're too worn out

ASTHMA MANAGEMENT IN SPORTS
What is Asthma?
Asthma is the narrowing of the airways due to spasm and/or swelling of the airway walls, making breathing difficult, there may also be an accumulation of mucus and fluid in the airways, contributing to the narrowing of the airways.Exercise induced asthma (EIA) refers to asthma that is triggered during or shortly after exercise. EIA can vary from a mild cough, to wheezing or to severe breathing difficulties. EIA may occur during exercise, though it is more likely to occur after exercise (up to 30 minutes after exercise).During exercise, heat and water are lost from the airways and it is this change that is thought to trigger EIA.
What triggers and asthma attack?
Some common triggers include:
- Exercise, especially intensity and duration- Allergies, such as dust, pollens, grasses, lawn cuttings, cat or dog etc.- Cigarette smoke- Cold air- Certain medications and irritants, such as aspirin- Emotion, including laughter- Chest infections- Stress
Continuous activities such as running usually cause wheezing more that stop/start activities such as football and netball. Other activities where less EIA occurs include:
- Swimming- Walking- Cycling- Tennis- Soccer
Cold and/or dry air will also affect an asthmatic, therefore, it is important that precautions such as preventative medications are taken when exercising in such climates.
Being physically fit is also beneficial to the asthmatic.
How to recognise an asthma attack
There is usually a past history of asthma, and the athlete appears:
- Distressed- Anxious- Has difficulty breathing- Short of breath (

Don't turn out the light!
A good source of light is essential when camping, even if only for that quick dash to the amenities. I have lost count of how many times I've seen people go camping with these massive monstrosities they call torches. It seems most have a passion for the 'Big Jim' style of torch (are they still sold?) which require those heavy and very bulky 6v square batteries that screw onto the torch frame. In this day and age there really is no need for the 'spotlight' variety torch unless your needs require it. Many sellers on eBay now sell the LED variant of torch and these are a great little piece of equipment. Not only are they light, they provide good light output, especially with the 7 LED models, and they have a pretty good battery life span so you won't need to carry a backpack full of batteries with you.My preference here is to buy from sellers actually within Australia, and not those who just have a local rep and bank account and pretend to be in Australia. Usually the postage cost is a good indicator here whether the item is in Oz or not.If the postage is in the area of $20 AUD for a 7-21 LED torch you can be pretty well safe in the knowledge that it is actually coming from overseas. Not that this is a bad thing, but it makes for an expensive torch, and sometimes things go missing or you get the wrong item, it happens! Some of the 'miners' style headband LED torches are great as well, I recently brought a 7 LED version of these, and I would have to say it was a worthwhile purchase indeed. Its light, good output and only uses 3 AAA batteries and they last for ages.A single LED torch can also be a handy item for those times when your fishing around for something in your pack during the night, or for that quick dash :pI am presently watching a 24 LED torch and hope to scoop this up for a reasonable price. My LED torch collection to date amounts to the above-mentioned miners style lamp and a single LED torch, the single LED lives in my 'Emergency Pack' on a permanent basis along with other items, which in a coming guide I will write about and explain the use of my emergency pack and the reasons for choosing the items in it.Billies boiling, seeyaMIXTHIS!

Avoiding fake nCode's nsix one's and Kfactor Ksix one's
Looking to buy a Wilson Kfactor or nCode Six one? This guide will assure that your new racquet is not a fake. The Wilson kSix One's are very similar to the nSix One's and this guide can still be used to determine fakes.
Refer to http://www.tennis-warehouse.com/viewlarge.html?PCODE=K61T for
better pictures of a the kSix One Team and note the differences between
that and the kSix One 95.
Many people purchase tennis racquets without knowing they are
replica's or "fakes", in turn they suffer from arm problems, poor
performance from the racquet and finally a racquet that will most
likely snap during the stringing proccess.
Rule Number 1: Buy Nationally If you buy from China or other countries, you stand a high risk of getting ripped off and losing your money.

Don't "Buy It Now" - be patient
This is a short guide outlining a simple philosophy on using eBay. When you have decided that you want to buy something, and you intend to use eBay, perhaps you should be a little patient. Don't rush in and purchase the very next item finishing in the next five minutes. Do some research. Compare prices. Look at shipping costs. Look overseas. Look outside eBay. Pick a price setpoint, and stick to it.I hope I have your attention. I would like to suggest some typical steps to follow that applies when purchasing almost anything on eBay.Do some researchCompare pricesLook at postage costsLook overseasLook outside eBayStick to your guns - Google and ess-enn-eye-pee-eee toolsDo Some ResearchAfter you have worked out what you want to buy, so some research. Make use of the Advanced Search options in eBay, and check out the prices for items similar to yours that were actually sold in the last 30 days. For example:Say you want to buy a Palm Treo 650 PDA. Normally you would put this in a search like this search for Palm Treo 650. This will return all the items that mention these terms "palm treo 650" that are about to finish now and in the future. Drill down a little into the results - look at the "Matching Categories" on the left side of the page, and click on the specific category (in this case - "PDAs, Handhelds (7)" ), you can identify the actual item you are looking for, and not all the accessories or other guff.By scrolling down the page a little, and looking at the "Search Options" on the left side of the page, you can see that there is usually a "Completed Listings" option. Tick this option, and then click on the "Show Items" button.

Nitro Glow Plug selection Guide
If you find this guide useful, please vote yes at the bottom of this page. Here is a guide that is helpful when selecting what glow plug to suit what engine / conditions / fuel.Glowplugs, in general:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
- Higher ambient temperature = colder plug
- Higher nitro content = colder plug
- Longer tracks = colder plug
--------------------------------------------------------------------
For each of these rules, the opposite is also true, i.e. low ambient
temperature means a hotter plug is required.
So for a track with lots of straights, in 30 degrees, with 25%
nitro, you want the coldest plug you can get.
MC-9, OS A5, Rossi R5, RB 8, etc.
In the same conditions but on a tighter track, cold or medium cold.
MC-8, OS A3, Rossi R3, RB 7, etc
On colder days, use a slightly warmer plug.
Below is a list of popular plugs and their temperatures. Note that
each manufacturer has their own definition of what 'hot' or 'cold'
actually means, so a hot RB plug is not identical to a hot McCoy
plug. However they will be in the same ballpark.
The easiest way to deal with this is to pick one brand that is
easy to get, or you know is reliable, and then just use whichever
of their plugs is appropriate for the conditions and your engine
and fuel. Don't go trying hundred of different plugs as it will
just be too confusing.

DISNEY SNOWGLOBES
HelloWho finds Disney Snowglobes an addictive item to collect. It all started many years ago when i received a Peter Pan snowglobe from a friend. From then on my collection grew to a point we could not park our garage in the car anymore. Anyway to satisfy my addiction I decided I needed to be part of the cycle and now sell the snowglobes on ebay. I have come to a conclusion where I will only be collecting Peter Pan Snowglobes. I find that this way my collection hopefully will not get out of control again.

shrinking heatshrink
Heatshrink is a very versatile tubing that has over a thousand and one uses.
There is a variety of ways to shrink heatshrink tubing and the most popular and best way is to use a hot air gun (paint stripping gun) a gas blow torch can also be used but be carful not to burn the tubing.
The side of a soldering iron is aslo used a lot, ideal for small lengths but time consuming for long lengths.
If you dont have any of the above here are some other great ways of shrinking the tubing - the hob ring of a electric/gas cooker will do the job as well as the steam from a boiling kettle (another person will have to keep the on/off button pressed all the time) or even the steam from a wall paper stripper or one of them cleaning steamers.
Laying the tubing in hot water a little below boiling point does a good job too.

Matchbox Dicast cars
Some of the points on selling Matchbox diecast also apply to any other brand such as Dinky, Corgi, Trax etc. I have coellected Matchbox cars for more years than I care to remember and am one of those devout 'Yesteryear' collectors but also collect anything in the ranges that take my fancy.
When selling there are several points to remember to acheive a good price
1. RARE: I see this description bandied about on every other listing. Listed at 99c how can it be rare, please do your homework first and don't put this word there because YOU think it is - I will not even open an ad with this heading as nothing turns me off quicker. A rare item at 99 cents means the seller is totally cuckoo or has simply no idea.
2..MINT: Is it really mint - meaning no chips scratches or missing decals? Mint means exactly as it came from the factory possibly 40 to 50 years ago. Most collectors grade their models with 10 the absolute best right down to 1 although most collectors will not go past 7 or 8. Very few models even factory direct are grade 10 as these were mass produced items for kids to play with but is generally accepted as top quality.
3.BOXES: Boxes should be clean and crisp without creases or end flaps missing to be described as mint. Any of the previous or sellotape sticky residue will decrease the value of a box. When described as 'MINT

Model Plane Engine Buyers Guide
Model Aeroplane Engine Buyers GuideIntroduction:
This guide is intended to help people when buying Model Aeroplane Engines from eBay. As many people are aware eBay is a great place to buy Hobby goods but it can also be a dangerous place. Most sellers are aero-modellers so they are generally pretty good reliable people, but as in all walks of life there are a few unscrupulous types around.

the world of LEGO overview according to astrophytum
This guide is written to share with fellow ebayers what I have learnt while travelling through the real life and virtual world of LEGO collecting and building.
world of LEGO inhabitants
The set collector may only collect MISB (Mint In Sealed Box) sets. The condition of the box is of utmost importance to these collectors, since that is what they are collecting. Set collectors may also just collect all the sets of certain themes or certain years. When buying sets their best options are MIB (Mint In Box) or NIB(New In Box), but since the definitions of these terms aren't written in stone, a doubtful eye may pass over auctions listing this way. Often a non-MISB set collector will purchase an incomplete set, in order to complete it by hopefully finding the missing parts somewhere else. Complete sets listed for sale may have elements substituted, or coloured elements substituted, the decsription should note this as well as noting the condition of instructions and box. Instructions for most sets can be found online.

Buying Digimon electronics
Greetings from your resident Digimon nut! Since there's one about Tamagotchi, why not one about Digimon as well, eh? This guide contains information about the original Digimon devices, as well as the more popular Digivices.Original V-petV-pets stand for "virtual pets". The original Digimon was created as a boy's alternative to the Tamagotchi - the main difference being that they can battle. They are also hardier than their Tamagotchi counterpart, as it was generally though that boys take less care of their pets. (since when..?) In general, the best Digimon can be gained by lots of training and battles. Over the past couple of months, I've seen so many people selling the original Digimon v-pets but not knowing what version they are. It's quite simple really - you can tell from the backgrounds. These images were originally uploaded by my good friend Blade Saber.Version 1Version 2Version 3Version 4Version 5So all you people wanting to sell your v-pets, CHECK THE VERSION BEFORE LISTING IT! Makes everyone happier. A lot of the v-pets listed sometimes have parts missing - most notably the border around the screen (may be broken or missing completely), and the original keychain. This may or may not affect the final price of the v-pet, but at the end of the day, it's the original Digimon itself that matters. Keychains can easily be replaced, and certainly you can enjoy the Digimon without that border. One thing, however, is your v-pet may be dusty when you receive it. Mostly, it doesn't affect gameplay, but I have once bought one that was so dusty, I had to open the device itself and clean between the buttons - even then, the middle button was kind of screwy. But I think this is a generally one in a million situation, so don't pay too much attention, but take note. You may be able to ask for some sort of refund from the seller if one or more of the buttons don't work properly.Another thing you can count on when buying these guys, is don't expect it to come with the original box. Unlike the Tamagotchis which were revived a couple of years ago, Digimon has only ever been active in Japan. The first original v-pet was released in 1997. So when you see an auction that has it coming with the box, expect to pay a little more than usual. I've seen auctions that were boxed go for over AU$30, compared to my three v-pets which I got for about AU$20 apiece. Also, auctions that provide "ship to Worldwide" option generally go for higher than if they were just avaliable to Australia. Because some people in America are still after these guys - I know this from experience. So if you're looking to save some money, look out for the local auctions. DigivicesDigivices are modelled directly from the shows itself, and are all what we call "pedometer" toys - stick the Digivice on your belt and it walks with you. (An alternative to bringing it out is just to shake it. Time consuming, but it works.) These are also mostly quest-based, and after walking a certain number of steps, your Digimon will typically meet up with a "wild" Digimon and go into battle, or encounter a Boss.Original Digivice (Digimon Adventure)Generally considered very rare, bidding for this can go up to about US$60 per piece. I've seen Japanese Digivices go for about US$150. D-3 (Digimon Adventure 02)Not as rare as the original Digivice, I've seen quite a few around. Depending on which auction you bid on, you could get lucky and get one for pretty cheap - I got mine for below AU$10 plus shipping. These come in two versions; shown is version 1. Version 2 has translucent grips. I've noticed the ones that tend to be more expensive are the V-mon versions (white and blue) and the Ken versions (black and grey).D-Power (Digimon Tamers)
