Fowl smelling antique linens Solution
I purchased some antique lace trims and linens from okay. I was shocked when they arrived for the smell was horrible, so strong and fowl of mildew I can't even describe. I felt I could not use these items I had just purchased for sewing and I was at a loss. I tried cleaning them and was very successful. Keep in mind I was willing to experiment on the worse smelling linens and lace I has ever witnessed and felt if I ruined them they were ruined anyway. I used oxi clean and quite a bit of the powder i did not use it sparingly for it is safe and does not usually damage anything, I used a small bowl of water and added a good amount of Arm and Hammer , plus oxy clean dirt fighting oder and dirt eliminator!!!! very inexpensive. I soaked the lace linens overnight which is the trick...at least 12 hours. You can buy this at any grocery store VERY inexpensively. There are many fragrant linen washes on the market and they are mild with very high price tags plus shipping I don't know it they work but I know this did :-). let me know how you make out if you try it. Thank you, Melissahad a possitive experience I wanted to share.
