SPOT FAKE ANYA HINDMARCH I'm NOT A PLASTIC BAG GUIDE #3

THIS IS PART 3 OF MY GUIDES ON HOW TO SPOT A FAKE ANYA HINDMARCH "I'm NOT A Plastic Bag".
THIS GUIDE IS ABOUT THE GENERAL CONSTRUCTION OF THE BAG. I WILL POST A SEPARATE GUIDE ON STITCHING and ANOTHER ON THE METAL RINGS.
PLEASE BE SURE TO READ THE FIRST TWO BEFORE PROCEEDING. THIS GUIDE HAS A LITTLE MORE ADVANCED INFORMATION AND MAY MAKE BETTER SENSE IF YOU HAVE ALREADY READ THE FIRST TWO GUIDES.

At this point, you are probably getting pretty good at spotting the fakes. Of course, we can all spot the bad fakes. But I think by now after reading my guides, you are learning how to spot thefakes that you may have thought were actually authentic. My guides aren't about the BAD fakes, they are about the good ones.
So, here we go to PART 3:
While these are just canvas grocery bags, they are actually high quality for this type of bag, hence, the Anya Hindmarch logo on the front. Here is an example of what I'm talking about:

Do you notice anything different about these two bags? It may not jump out at you but look again. See how neat and "in order" the one on the left looks? See how warped and wrinkley the one on the right looks? See how the bag on the left folds up nicely? And how you can see thevertical piping onBOTH sides, even when folded? That is because the one on the left is an authentic bag. The one on the right is not. I purchased the fake one on the right (Gray HK) from a highly respected seller on okay and I paid $69 for it. And it is as fake as fake can be.
One thing to look for in the authentic bags is the quality of the canvas. Good canvas is like good leather, it just looks and feels different than the cheap stuff.I wish the pictures were bigger so you could see this better but the fake bag in the abovephoto is covered in wrinkles that will not gee out without a good steaming. And they would gee right back easily afterward. This is because cheap canvas wrinkles easily and holds wrinkles longer. It also will not fold upsmoothly which does not allow it to lie flat. I took both bags by the handles and neatly folded in the sides. The bag on the right could not be made to look straight no matter how hard I tried and the authentic bag almost folded itself it was so easy to fold, with very little effort. This is all about contruction. Even though this was originally a $15 retail bag, it was five times the cost of a normal canvas, grocery type bag, so you can expect more from it. Maybe not as much as a $200 canvas designer bag but a lot more than what you get from the fake bag. Look at this:

I put the real and fake bag side by side. See how the bottom on the fake bag won't lie smoothly? I pushed it down with my hand and it would pop right back up. Now, look again at the top left photo of how smoothly the real bag will fold up.
Now, back to the wrinkles. I have NOT ironed or steamed the authentic bag. The authentic bag was shipped to me just like the fake one was. But the authentic bag is mysteriously not wrinkled. Why? Because of the quality of the canvas. LOOK:

See the incredible difference? Also, see how on the authentic bag you can see the lines of trim around the bottom? Where did they go on the fake? They are there but you can't see them because the fabric was not cut correctly (due tolightening speed production).

See how nice the side folds are on the authentic bag? See the mess on the right? And this was AFTER I tried to fold them in and straighten them out. This bag is a total mess.
Hopefully, you are undertanding now what to look for as far as the contruction of the bag.....now we need to move on to stitching, so please see Part 4. Part 5 will cover the metal rings. (Part 4
